Greece, Ukraine Survive Relegation Battle

Greece beat Israel 80-54 to finish 3-0 in Group G of the Classification Round at the U18 European Championship Men 2009 in Metz France.

The result saw Greece hold on to their Division A status while the loss for Israel - combined with Ukraine's 79-70 win over the Czech Republic - saw them fall to 1-2 only good enough for third place and more importantly relegate them to Division B.

Resting Key Players, Croatia Maintain Unbeaten Run

Despite being without three key players, Croatia beat the Ukraine 73-69 to finish with a perfect record in the Preliminary Round at the U18 European Championship Men 2009, in Metz, France.

Without Toni Prostran, Ivan Batur, Luka Babic, Croatia came from behind in the fourth quarter to maintain their unbeaten record and take top honours in Group B.
